First off . . . I still have not finished Inkdeath . . . because I'm terribly . . . dang furious at what happens with Farid!
SPOILERS, YO!
Yeah, so in this third book, Meggie decides not to love Farid anymore and goes for this other guy. Who's definitely not as cool as Farid. I mean really. I read the ending and the LAST part of the book is when Farid tries to kiss Meggie and she turns away and says she loves someone more . . .and just walks away, for crying out loud!
So great. Farid has nobody now. He doesn't belong in his own book (Arabian Nights), our world, and now Inkheart. He basically has no friends, now that Meggie won't like him (it was basically the only reason others liked him). I mean come on!
So I drew this picture. And hopefully he finds another Silvertongue so he can travel through all the different books and have his own great adventures and become a hero on his own. Maybe HE'LL learn how to do it. I mean, he learned how to breathe fire the way Dustfinger does, and that was a skill basically only from Inkheart. So maybe he can learn this as well.
Okay besides all my angry ranting, I hate anatomy!!!
A friend of mine lent me Inkheart so that I could be prepaired for the movie ( Paul Bettany! Whoo!) but I'm currently entangled in the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik: the Napoleanic wars, officers of the British Royal Navy and dragons. Its AWESOME. @.@ But anyways....
I love that little vinette of the desert with the lovely shadows over the dunes and the tiny people/camels. The poor kid looks cold. Or perhaps its the LONLINESS that got him. Remember! When anatomy attacks, try try again! (flail) I believe in you! And I dunno it this will help it all, but its something one of my teacher just said a day ago. If you're having problems making things looks like the body-parts you want, try drawing inside the limbs, not just the sihloutte. You know, the fancy parts of the knee, and the deltoid in the shoulder and the bicepts of the arms. This helps give structure...or so I've been told! (Did that make any sense...even a little? @.@) Of course, I'm not allowed to talk. x.x He was giving me the advice! Maybe we'll both benefit!

"I think my tea-cabinet is possessed." "You have a cabinet devoted solely to tea?" "I have alot of tea."
Poor kid...I love how the image is spliced between three different worlds...it really helps me feel how segmented he must be feeling right now. Great backdrops though...and he looks so alone and desolate I just want to hug him! Here's hoping things look up for him soon.
And if you liked Meggie and Farid together...well...you've got my sympathies.

I really love that. It's great how you've segmented it. (I haven't gotten around to reading Inkdeath yet seeming as I haven't been able to find a book) Poor Farid...
